What is MPPT ?
MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) is our proprietary new technology that makes tracking solar power more efficient and reliable. As sunlight intensity changes, the voltage and current from the solar panel also changes. The purpose of MPPT is to obtain the maximum value combination of the voltage and current continually and thereby shorten the time of charging a battery fully. As illustrated below, charge controller with MPPT can track the maximum value combination of 17.5V and 3.05A. Charge controller without MPPT can only obtain value combination of 12V and 3.2A. MPPT increases solar output power by 30% or more (over non-MPPT solar converter).

Example: Using a 40W solar panel with an MPPT quick-charging controller for 8 hours of full sunshine can charge an 36V x 5Ah lithium battery fully (100%). The battery will only be charged about 60%~70% when charged with a normal charge controller.
